Question/Comment:

I don't like this medication. The first couple of times I took it, I had extreme spells of vertigo that lasted for hours. Which terrified me because the vertigo had been doing so much better since taking meclizine. I reduced the dosage by half and that seemed to help somewhat. But I've noticed that the vertigo is happening much more frequently. Additionally, it is not helping with the muscle spasms. I think I was having better luck with the flexeril.

Question/Comment:

If I take neurontin and keppra, dilantin, reyataz, epzicom, What is the chances of me having a seizure,?

48 year old Male

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

Neurontin, Keppra and Dilantin may be used to prevent seizures and Baclofen is used as a muscle relaxant. Taking Baclofen with your medications, Neurontin, Keppra, Dilantin, Reyataz and Epzicom, has not been shown to increase the risk of seizures. However, there is a possible interaction between Baclofen, Neurontin, Keppra and Dilantin. Since all of these medications have similar side effects, you are at an increased risk for decreased mental alertness, excessive drowsiness, and breathing problems. You can monitor for signs of these problems and follow up with your doctor as soon as possible if they occur.

Question/Comment:

How many people have used the Baclofen pump for post-CVA spasticity. It worked well for me for five years, then I had to get a new pump because of low battery. The pump malfunctioned two different times and I had to have three surgeries in two years. After the last surgery, I developed a Staph infection and had to have it taken out. Oral Baclofen does me no good at all.

Question/Comment:

I'm a stroke patient, my neurologist recommended this med to loosen up my left side muscles. Can anybody give me information about side effects, especially on the liver? I'm still in the process of researching it before I start taking it. Please help. Thanks.

Answer/Reply:

I've been taking Baclofen for 20 years, have my liver checked each year and no problems. I have M.S. I also take Diazapam and Tizanadine. Tizanadine was a miracle drug for me, I could walk after 4 days being on it. Best of luck to you.

Answer/Reply:

What are Diazapam and Tizanadine? I've been on Baclofen for years now along with Neurontin, hydrocodone, topamax, meloxicam and sometimes shots of toradol. I suffer chronic pain after being in about 10 different car accidents...the last one did me in. I recovered from all of the others. I injured my back in three areas, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar, I have terrible migraines, terrible insomnia, etc. As long as I'm not active its bearable most days, but just trying to shop for even groceries can send me to the ER. I went from being very active to being practicly bed ridden. I'm just wondering if those two drugs could replace some of my other drugs and allow me to have a more active life.
