Global Patient Feedback for Doxycycline ( Post a comment )
Question/Comment:
Doxycyclin seemed to counteract the allopurinol that I have been taking for gout. I had not had a gout flare up in more than 3 years, yet both time I used Doxycycliin, 2 months apart, I experienced a gout flare up in my foot. I don't believe it was coincidence.

Question/Comment:
My husband was prescribed this medication for his Dermatitis. It does seem to help, as the redness has really disappeared. I worry though as he's also taking Amoxicillian (for life due to osteomyelitis)and Nitrofurantoin. He has MS, so he's on lots of different medications.

Question/Comment:
My doctor prescribed this medication to treat acne ... yes, I'm serious. After 5 months, I still had acne all over my face, along with an itchy red rash around my neck. Seems I'm allergic to tetracycline-based anitbiotics. Who knew? Doryx didn't work for me so I am no longer taking it.

Question/Comment:
My doctor has prescribed this medication as treatment for RA-due to side effects of the others I have tried-if this doesn't work he has said he can probably try Leufidimine again at a lower dose before going to the 'big guns'-I think I have felt a small difference since taking Doxycyclin, I also feel as though it has increased dizzy spells that I have.

My husband was perscribed this medication for a infection he had in his lower back bone. He was admitted into the hospital for 4 weeks then realeased and given these pills to take afterward. He is doing fine. But his pain still comes and goes. We do not know if the infection is gone or if he still has any in him. I have been trying to find out if this medication is suppose to get rid of the entire infection or what?

I was given this to take for 10 days along with pred. Known as pred burst. I have copd and sob. the pred opens the lungs but leaves me susptable to infections. So this keeps the infections away and gets rid of what i got in there now. It does upset the stomach.never took it before. 59 gal
