iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

Metformin can and does work, however after 6 months my levels were well controlled, but I could not tolerate the gastrointestinal side effects, gas, bloating, cramps and diarrhea so I am stopping! This is just my experience and I did my best despite the side effects but they can be brutal to some, while others can tolerate it. Unfortunately, the side effects persisted and today I begin a new drug unrelated to Metforin (Glucophage). Hope this helps!
