Question/Comment:
I started to take it without food..then it made me throw up..I took it with food and then I threw up...I started using Orange Juice and it helped my stomach..but since I'm diabetic I can't really drink orange juice the way everybody else does..I'm supposed to take three iron pills a day...I noticed that if I go a few days without it I get very fatigued..I don't like that it makes it painful for me to go to the bathroom and makes my stool hard to pass....I have tried to go without the iron to avoid the discomfort but then I get extremely fatigued...

I take Normocol which is a vegetable fibre. I take two sachets a day and it has relieved the constipation caused by taking three iron tablets a day. I now have regular soft bowel movements each day.

Answer/Reply:
You might have a blood test taken for your iron componants.
I am 74, and, as one who becomes seriously anemic (down to "5" on hemo count), I twice had Procrit shots. 3rd time I was given a series of ''bags'' of iron given intrvaneously. I also take the Ferrous-Sulfate, twice a day, and ''Ferrofood'', by Standard Process Inc., as well as ''Fe-Max Iron Tonic'', also Standard Process (thru a licensed person).
This requires lots of ''fiber'', such as ''Flax seed'' (or ground), or 'fiber foods.
My 'hemo' count is now "13.5", & my 'energy' level, has more than doubled, in the last few months.

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:
There are no significant interactions identified in the iGuard database between the ingredients of Feosol, most common multivitamins and Trinessa... That said, vitamin C (in large doses) has the potential to increase the levels of circulating ethinyl estradiol from Trinessa if used for prolonged periods of time.
