Answer/Reply:

If people would ask more info from your doctors when they give you new medicines you would know the pros and cons of the meds your taking and not take them and then ask questions. People need to take new medicines only after doing some research on them and know all thses things before starting them. There are many sites you can go to on the web all you need to do is Google them.Take control of your lives people!!

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

iGuard has been very popular with it's users when starting new medications. Users log on to see what others have said about that same medication and they add it to their iGuard profile to see if it will interact with any of their current medications or health conditions.

Answer/Reply:

... and if you DO the research & ask all the right questions & still end up worse for wear what do YOU suggest then, since YOU seem think we are not doing & asking all the things we should?!!

Question/Comment:

Any and All medications are, to some degree, detoxified and metabolized by the liver and are therefore potentially harmful to that organ. Tylenol and its generic equivalents are the most notable for this. Taken in modest excess permanent damage is probable.
Crestor belongs to a potent family of drugs that are extremely effective in their actions. They dramatically lower Cholesterol and Triglycerides and because of this they are possibly the most effective means ever to have been developed to help prevent or treat heart disease and Early Death. They are, simply put, "Miracle Drugs"
Like Tylenol they effect the liver. Are they potentially harmful? Yes. Is there a risk? Yes. Can that risk be minimized? Yes. How? periodic blood tests. Is the risk/benefit ratio worth its use?
Yes I believe it is.. Would I take it? Yes without hesitation. Do I? Yes for the past 6 yrs!
The comparison with Tylenol was meant to minimize any exaggerated suggestion that Crestor is so much worse that anything else..
Hope this helps!
