Question/Comment:

I have been on Lexapro for about 1.5 years now, 10 mg. The biggest side effect for me has been weight gain. I mean like 20 pounds! I am now taking Herbalife products and have lost some around the middle area, but not as quickly as I like.
Any suggestions besides exercise and weight loss products?

I am so glad to see someone is taking herbalife with Lexapro. I just recently been placed on lexapro and I was worried that I would not be able to continue with my herbalife products. Did you get an okay by your Doc to take the herbalife? because my Doc said it would not be safe!

Question/Comment:

I have been taking it for about 3 years now and have found it very helpful. It makes me feel "normal," not drugged. I didn't about the restless leg side effect. I have that from time to time and wondered why since I exercise regularly.

Answer/Reply:

You have had achy legs, or just restless legs? I have been having bad leg aches for a year and i thought it may be attributed to this......

32 Year old Male. I have been on lexapro 10mg for 5 months now and I have gained about 20 pounds. I have been on weight watchers which has always worked for me in the past for 5 weeks and I have not lost a single pound. My psychologist tells me that it is weight neutral and does not want me to go off it. Everyone I know who has been on it has gained up to 20 lbs. My 94 year old grandpa is taking it and he gained 20 lbs within two months of taking it and he barely eats anything. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do?

Answer/Reply:

My husband has been on Lexapro for over 4 years now and has not gained any weight since taking this drug. Maybe the weight gain is from a thyroid condition, or other medications.

I've been on lexapro for about 4 weeks and I feel better. I've not gianed any weight. It really matters what you put in your mouth and how many times a week you workout. Common sense really does help.

I've been on lexapro for about a month now. No weight gain and I feel better. It really does matter what you put in your mouth... EVERYDAY. It also helps to workout 4-5 times a week as well. If you don't take care of yourself... no one else will. COMMON SENSE REALLY HELPS.

Question/Comment:

I heard it was not good to take alprazolam for anxiety if u have ADHD and take adderal, is this true?

23 year old Female

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

In general, adderall should not be used together with SSRIs (such as zoloft, prozac, lexapro etc.) since the combination can increase the effects of the adderall, as well as increase the risk of serious side effects such as serotonin syndrome.
