Question/Comment:

This drug has been a lifesaver in my regaining my focus and ability to function normally. I would highly recommend it. Just be aware that for the first few days that the side effects may be quite pronounced while your body adjusts to the med. It took about ten days or so before I didn't get shaky and jittery after the dose.

Research it yourself and I mean hours reading blogs, Internet sites on the drug, talking to pharmacist, other users before making a personal decision on the use, mis-use and addiction of the drug. Do not get into the drug problems of taking sleep aids at night (embient and others) and Adderal/similar drugs which is a terrible up/down merry-go-round effect which also can be just as terrible to your health and quality of living. Be careful and don't let you life be around taking Adderal, swap out medication types to similar medication to prevent addiction and the tolerance effect. Enjoy the benefits that it gives you (in my case no more car wrecks-numerous including 12 total vehicles which has ruined my life financially and has made me into a partially disabled individual). If giving it or similar drugs to your children be 10 times more careful and as soon as they can make a decision let them decide for themselves and have them review their decision at least 2x per year.

Question/Comment:

It might take a little bit of time to get the correct dosage. Try to be aware of your body and mental state while you are trying to get the correct dosage. If you "zone out" or become lethargic, your dose is probably too high. Discuss everything you feel with your doctor.

be prepared for your stomach to get a little bit upset at first. also be prepared for extreme thirst! if you feel too hyper or jittery, decrease dose and perhaps also, maybe adderall is not the right medication for you. sometimes people think they have adhd when they do not.

Question/Comment:

is it bad to take anxiety medication with adderrall?

23 year old Female

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

It is generally not recommended that adderall be used together with SSRIs (such as zoloft, prozac etc.) since the combination can increase the effects of the adderall, as well as increase the risk of serious side effects such as serotonin syndrome. While there are no interactions identified in the iGuard database between the ingredients in adderall and many common benzodiazepines commonly prescribed for anxiety, make sure that all your doctors know about your other medications if a benzodiazepine is to be used together with adderall. All medications with central nervous system effects have the potential for problems if used in combination without medical supervision.

Answer/Reply:

I haven't had any problems with taking Klonopin with the Adderall and have been taking it for several years. It hasn't matter what antidepressant I take I get internal turmoil the same time each day so I stop this by taking the Klonopin before it happens. I'm sure your doctor is aware of what your taking and if you have been doing it for awhile I dought you will have any problems.
I am taking Lexapro also right now. I haven't found one antidepressant much better then the others in this class of medications. Paxil use to be a good drug but they have done something to change it.
