Question/Comment:

Fish Oil did not really do much to lower my cholesterol. I started taking Lipitor which has lowered it. I am still taking the Fish Oil, but I will ask the doctor at my next appointment in April if I should continue taking it.

Question/Comment:

My doctor told me to take the fish oil as it helps to keep my cholesterol and triglycerides in check.

50 year old Female

Question/Comment:

i was only recently told to start taking O3FO; i've been on tricor for maybe more than a year now because my triglycerides are high. funny thing is that my cholesterol levels are below 200, with even the "good" cholesterol being very high. i was told it must be genetic because my brother and i had almost the same triglyceride level (off by perhaps one or two points) but he has ridiculously high cholesterol. i do not know what my levels are anymore and i'm scheduled to have it rechecked this month.

i suppose i ought to start eating oatmeal, too, to lower cholesterol even more. i just can't get myself to eat the stuff.

23 year old Female

Answer/Reply:

What is "O3FO"?

46 year old Male

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

O3FO is an abbreviation for Omega-3 Fish Oils, a dietary supplement.

Question/Comment:

Do you know how long it took for your levels to get below 200? Are you doing any exercises, walking or anything? I have just started taking 1200 mg of fish oil, omega-3 and omega-6.

52 year old Female

Question/Comment:

I have been taking 1000mg capsules of Fish Oil together with 1000 mg capsules of Flax Seed Oil
twice daily for the past 2 years. My cholestrol and triglicerides during this time have dropped from
in the 250 range to aproximately 150. Taking Zokar alone prior to this would not lower my readings.
