Question/Comment:

I am seeing comments from people suggesting that you ask your Doctor for more information on the drug. From my experience, doctors, anymore, seem to want to get patients in and out. I have been told that this is because, for a doctor to remain on an insurance companies Preferred Provider list, they need to have a specific turnaround. The best person to seek information from is your Pharmacist before the prescription is filled then you can make an informed decision on whether you aare comfortable taking the medicsation before you go spending any money on it.

Question/Comment:

I have recently stopped taking it after a number of years. Cost is one factor. The price just went up and I can no longer afford it. I also found that it made me very irritable and extremely impatient. Being that I am not taking anything at this time I am experiencing "sinus attacks" on a daily basis that last for an hour or more at a time. I am looking for something over the counter, possibly generic to minimize cost. ANy ideas would be appreciated.

Fexofenadine contains similar active ingredients to Benadryl which is also available under house brands from K-Mart, Wal-Mart for about 5 bucks a hundred.

Answer/Reply:

I don't know if you have every tried Claritin or not, but there is an alternative to that medication that is a lot cheaper. (About 50% cheaper.) The company that I get the product from has all kinds of great products that are great for the environment and for your health. In their form of generic Claritin you get 30 tablets with the exact same dosage of Loratadine for half the price of the over the counter Claritin at stores like Wal-Mart. It was a blessing to me because I was on 2 tablets a day and it would have cost me $40 per month for 2 boxes. Each box contains only 24 tablets each so technically it would have cost me more than that. You can go to this site and request more information on the products at TX_Health_n_Wellness@fourpointwellness.com. I truly hope this information is helpful to you.
