I find it doesn't provide long enough relief as it can only be used once every 4 to 6 hours so another inhaler/nebulizer is needed for in-between doses on bad days.

Question/Comment:

I use albuterol as a rescue inhaler instead of everyday treatment. I find that when I'm in the midst of a bad attack, it's worth the side effects to get rid of the attack, but it's kind of a lesser-of-two-evils thing.

I need to know if there is a risk with taking albuterol, motrin & unisom at the same time?

45 year old Male

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

Although there are no interactions identified between these drugs in the iGuard database, there is a potential for this combination to cause problems if you are elderly with COPD (the unisom could cause respiratory depression), or if you have asthma that can be triggered by aspirin or NSAIDs (such as motrin).

Question/Comment:

Any problem with taking excedrin with albuterol?

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

Although excedrin and albuterol don't have any interactions identified in the iGuard database, a small number of asthmatics (~3-5%) can develop sudden attacks of asthma in response to aspirin (an ingredient in excedrin).
