I get mine at walgreens or walmart pharmacies with no problem. I've even gotten albuterol mail order thru my insurance's pharmacy. However, as posted earlier, you can't get the generic any longer and the proair doesn't seem to work as well for me either. An earlier poster said it was the same price as she was paying before, but not so for me. I was paying a $5 co-pay for generic albuterol. Now, suddenly they're charging me $25 for ProAir! Ordering a 3 month supply, via my mail-order pharmacy, through me into the medicare Rx non-coverage gap...in the Fall of last year. The charges were expected to be $10 (buy 2 get 1 free), but it was $89 instead! I'm glad my insurance changed pharmacies. However, I still don't know how to buy an albuterol that works. I guess the "tree-huggers" don't ever consider effects changing a product has on Humans...only on trees and animals!

Follow your doctor's directions regarding the use of Albuterol. I use it twice a day, morning and evening, and then as needed. I've rarely used the "as needed" part.

This med. does assist COPD! But one has to sit up straight to inhale deeply & to hold the inhaled breath as much as possible for the first two breaths. Otherwise, thereafter just breath "normally".

Use every avenue for information you can. Pharmacists, doctors, internet, and friends who have had experience with this medication as well. As far as managing asthma, this medication has worked very well, in conjunction with singulair once a day.
