Question/Comment:

For me the side effects have been horrible. I have severe diarrhea. I have so little energy that I can't walk from one side of the room to the other without resting. Honestly, I felt better when I was still on dialysis. Seek out options if you can. I am insisting on others now.

Question/Comment:

Ask more questions before starting taking it. I would like to stop taking but I am not sure enough of the outcome without it. Although I don't think it has changed my symptoms much. I know the doctor is trying to wean me off the IVIG as the reason for taking the Cellcept because I have questioned the continuance of the IVIG as well. The big question will my condition stay as it is now getting off these things or would it get worse again. I am very satisfied with my ability to do what I want now. The first few weeks on the IVIG improved my symptoms greatly. I have read that Cellcept has a black box warning on it but I not sure what that means. I assume that it means it may be a questionable drug but I do trust my Neurologist.

Question/Comment:

For MG patients, it beats any other MG drug hands down - including and especially Prednizone. I've gone from 2 to 3 MG attacks a year while on Prednizone (for 14 years) to zero MG attacks in 3 years while taking CellCept only.

64 year old Male

Answer/Reply:

It has made me feel better than I have in years. I have had MG since 11/98. At first I was on Mestinon & Predisone. I still had weakness. Then I was put on Cyclosporine which was horrible. I got an infected Lymph Node and still had weakness. My Dr put me on Cellcept and I feel MG free and don't suffer any side effects. It is very expensive, but with insurance is affordable. While I was between jobs and insurance coverage, I did qualify for patient assistance and received my medicine for free.

Question/Comment:

it has been very easy and evective for my health

48 year old Female

Answer/Reply:

but does the effectiveness outweigh the side effects. I also hate how markets are capitalizing on this drug..it is way too expensive for someone w/ limited or no insurance (roughly $671). So, how long do you think someone would keep taking this obnoxious drug until they realize the long term costs will be outrageous?

Answer/Reply:

If you need this prescription, they do have patience assistance for those who can't afford it.
