When I started taking Clarinex, I would take it in the morning. I have switched to taking it at night and it helps a great deal. When I switched I could really see a change in how well it worked.

Make sure you take it at the same time every day, that way you won't have lapse in coverage. It will kick in pretty quickly, but it is miserable to wake up with your eyes glazed shut and sneezing every two minutes, so it's important to try and make sure you take it at the same time.

I have an unknown allergy that causes a rash (it may be a nickel allergy). I have not had this rash any day that I've taken my clarinex. I have tried other allergy medications, but clarinex has the fewest side-effects and works most effectively.

Take in early morning on an empty stomach and wait about an hour before eating. I used to get several sinus infections a year ... I have not had one in two years since starting to take Clarinex. I think it's wonderful!!

Clarinex is part of a four drug daily routine, so not taken on an as needed basis. Not aware of any side effects related to this med as occasional nosebleeds could be related to any of the other meds as well.
