Question/Comment:

I understand it doesn't work if you take it with high fibre food eg bananas. This is a problem for me.

Answer/Reply:

I take my digoxin in the morning. Every afternoon I have a bowl of Raisin Bran for a snack. No problems with fiber here. However, do NOT take it with grapefruit juice!

Answer/Reply:

I take my digoxin every morning with a bananna or other piece of fruit and wait to eat anything else that may contain bran, dairy or any high fiber cereals for one hour. I was told ( by my doctor) as long as you wait one hour then the digoxin is out of your stomache and into your blood stream and then your fiber intake will not affect it. You should never have grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking digoxin as the combination can have fatal side effects.
