Global Patient Feedback for Irregular / Painful Periods ( Post a comment )
Question/Comment:
I am 38 years young with Cardiomyophy, Congential Heart Failure, I have had 11 strokes and 2 Heart attacks, 2 Brain Anursiums and Lupus. I have been on disability since Mothers Day 2003 when I had my first stroke. I am always in pain and MY periods last anywhere from 7 to 10 days. And they are severly heavy. I have to use Super Tampons, Super Over Night pads (even in the day) and adult diapers. I change almost every 20 to 40 minutes. I can't go out because I am going to bleed right through to my clothes. Can anyone recommend anything to help with the Flow or Cramping? I really would like another child one day that is the only reason that I havent had a historectomy. PLEASE ANYONE???.............................. Evidence
Not to forget to mention I am on Coumadin (a blood thinner because they found a blood clot in my lungs once about 2004) and I can't dtop taking it or I could die. Please any sugestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.......................... God Bless Evidence.

ooh yeah that is all three at the same time (tampons, pads & Adult diapers) and I am enemic my blood level from my last labs a week ago was a 7. If it goes down anymore they will admit me to the hospital again and I hate that place. Getting poked every half an hour is not a great feeling. But it is neccessary to keep me alive. Ladies do as your doctors says (that is the reason they went to medical School for 8 years) So if anyone has any encourgement for me I thank you now in advance................................. Good Luck and God Bless................ Evidence

This is a reply to the women who is 37 enemic and with heavy periods. Please discuss with you Doctor taking the pill straight through without breaking. Unless you want to get pregnant in the furture there is not reason to suffer like this and end up in the hospital.
It works for me..

I bleed for the whole month of May with severe cramping and heavy bleeding. I found out that I had fibroids. You might want to get that checked.

Do NOT take this herb without your Doc's. permission. Taking this could cause, a BIG problem (i.e. a hospital stay or death) with all your other prescriptions. Never take vitamins or supplement's without checking with your Doc. Stay well everyone.

I don't know if any of you have had your thyroid checked. it can cause irregular heavy periods. It caused problems for me and my mother. My mother almost died. They performed a hysterectomy(sp?) and then found out about her thyroid. Her thyroid always tested that it was working fine until they did a test (not sure what it's called) but they used radioactive dye with I believe a cat-scan. hope maybe this will help. God bless You. Will say prayers for all of you.

Question/Comment:
has anyone else been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome? did your doctor suggest metformin as a treatment option? if so, i would like to know how this is going. at one point in time, a doctor that i no longer go to wanted to treat my ovarian cysts with metformin but i wasn't comfortable with the idea. however, now i am taking metformin to treat my diabetes (gotta love life's little ironies, right?) and was just curious as to what other women may have experienced.

Answer/Reply:
ask about the nuvaring. it's got hormones in it so it can help regulate your periods but it's a low dose so it's less likely to cause problems. plus you only have to think about two times a month (once to put it in, once to take it out, lol)

I had started doing that & also having hot flashes where i would get up & change my PJ's 2 to 3 times a night at age 40. they put me on estradiol 1mg & it helped, but in the last couple yrs. Ive had to have 7 surgeries to remove cancer, 2 were Melania. I dont know if it weakened my cells or if it was linked to it at all. But i dead stopped it recently & i feel OK. I know they have you get mammograms ever 6 mo or a yr when on it. due to it can cause Breast cancer i believe is what they said. Sounds like ur just going Thur a mid life crises & have alot of Faith & pray alot is what i do.
