I have taken both Zyrtec and Zyrtec-D. The -D works better for me. I work in a cat shelter and it works great - no itchy eyes, sneezing, or anything. I do need to take it at least an hour before work. -44 year old Female.

Although Zyrtec-D works better than other allergy meds for me, I have found that I develop a dry, scratchy throat. Thus, I only take it when we have a heavy rain spell, which means mold, to which I have a severe allergic reaction. I've added a prescription nasal inhaler to boost the effects of Zyrtec-D.

I've taking it at least 4-5 times a week for almost 3 years. Nothing else helps my allergies! If I take it on empty stomach it makes me sleep otherwise it usually stops most of my allergy attacks.

I tried regular Zyrtec and it helped some and then tried Zyrtec D and got better relief, I do need to take it in the morning as it keeps me up if I take too late in he day. Now I need something that shrinks nasal polyps as I have them and have lost taste and smell. There is a surgery available that offers only a temporary results before they grow back and there is very little chance it will return your taste and smell.
