Question/Comment:

I have been taking Amlodipine for 2 months. I get a lot of muscle pains in my upper arms and shoulders. Interested to know if others have this condition.

Question/Comment:

I take a low dose aspirin with Amlop. Bes. 5 mg. I hope that doesn't reduce the effectiveness. My Dr is aware of my daily aspirin, in fact, he suggested it I believe. Have been taking it for years, the asprin. Only been on Amlop Bes for a little over a year. Blood pressure is down but not perfect yet. It varies from one day to the next. Some tingling in my feet and lack of energy some days.

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Amlodipine can cause a tingling in the feet and drowsiness. It would be a good idea to let your doctor know, as your dose may need to be adjusted. If your symptoms are too much to handle, talk with your doctor about other options to control your blood pressure.

Question/Comment:

I had a leg swelling problem and after reading a side effect of Amlodipine discussed this with my cardiologist. Conclusion:reduce dosage from 10mg to 5mg. Result: swelling is minimal and BP did not elevate. I am 78 yrs old and take the following meds: Coreg, Lasix, Doxazosin, Lisinopril, Simvastatin, and some supplements. Be your own advocate, if you have a problem question your doctor and insist on a plausible answer.

Question/Comment:

I AM TAKING AMLODIPINE 10 MG, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 25 MG AND ATENOLOL 50 MG FOR B/P IT KEEPS MY B/P WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS BUT I AM SO TIRED ALL THE TIME WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE. JUST SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PILLS FOR B/P

Member Answer/Reply:

I've been on Lisonopril for years. Blood pressure improved but still high. So this year was put on Amlodipine which has done a fabulous job with bp in the low 90's/50's. Side effects have been constant dizziness, lightheaded, fuzzy focus and head pressure. Just started the Dean Ornish Diet, for 2 wks. Have lost 10 lbs. Hope this will unclog the arteries so I can reduce or eliminate the bp meds.
