Question/Comment:

I take lisinopril 10mg and I have the cough, joint ache and sweat, leg and foot cramps dizziness sometime should i stop taking this medication?

iGuard Answer/Reply:

You should definitely not stop taking lisinopril without first speaking with your doctor and getting his/her approval. You can ask about adjusting your dose. If the side effects are too unbearable, you can ask your doctor about taking a different medication for blood pressure.

Member Answer/Reply:

As with any medication, only your doctor can say whether you should continue taking a medication or not. Some medications require you to ease off slowly, so don't ever quit taking it on your own. Tell your doctor about any side effects you are having, and of course be prepared to answer whether the side effects are worse than the benefits of taking the med. Ask your doctor about any alternative meds as well. My endocrinologist put me on it for kidney disease protection. I already had low blood pressure.

Question/Comment:

I've taken this for 6 wks now . dizziness,neasea,headaches,fatigue,heartburn,palpatations.
But it has lowered the top # .But increased lower #.
Do you have to take this forever?

Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

You may not need to take this medication for the rest of your life. Two very important components of blood pressure lowering are a healthy, low salt diet and exercise. The combination can help to keep your blood pressure under control. Usually after about 6 weeks, the side effects become less. Before starting any new diet or exercise program, you need to make an appointment with your doctor to make sure you can be cleared for exercise. If you are still having issues, you may want to ask your doctor about decreasing your dose.

Question/Comment:

I have been taking 10 mg Lisinopril for about 3 months. My BP was the lowest ever at my last blood donation. I have noticed dizziness and blurred vision if I stand up too quick. I have leg cramps and achy joints in both of my arms since I have been on this med. Should I contact my doctor right away about these symptoms?
