Question/Comment:
I was put on Flagyl for IBS- I was on it for a month off it for 3 months then on it for 2 weeks, then off it for 2 months. The next time I was put on it I got worsening of my IBS symptoms and increased pain of my peripheral neuropathy. (I was told to take it for a month, but after 2 weeks this happened) This drug is known to cause peripheral neuropathy's and in patients who already have them it can be hard to tell when this is exhibiting. I stopped the drug and the side effects went away.

Answer/Reply:
It's me again, I started having more tightness in my chest (from taking Metronidazole). I called the doc. who prescribed it and reported this side effect. Apparently this is is strong type of antibiotic. I am going to follow up with the doc tomorrow to change to a different med. for this bacterial infection.

Question/Comment:
I have used Metro-Gel 1% for 6 years on my face for rosacea. It really works great on the bad acne that rosacea causes, sometimes reducing it in as little as 3 days for me. I haven't noticed any bad side effects from using this topical gel. It has given me back some pride in the way I look. I am very glad I was prescribed this medication.
