I was taking Hyzaar and begin noticing hairloss that eventually became very serious. My new doctor switched me to avapro that seems to be working quite well. I am trying to find out if this medication also can or does cause hair loss?

There is no clinical information available to suggest that Avapro depletes vitamin D in the body.

DOCTOR SWITCHED MY MEDS FROM LISINOPRIL TO AVAPRO 3 WEEKS AGO. THE AWFUL COUGHING AND THROAT IRRITATION I HAD BECAUSE OF LISINOPRIL IS ALL GONE. I AM A HAPPY CAMPER WITH AVAPRO. 150MG A DAY KEEPS MY PRESSURE UNDER CONTROL.

thanks for the info. my doctor switched me from zestoretic which has lisinopril in it along with hydrochlorothiazide because of a nagging cough which suddenly got worse with no underlying infection, etc. He put me on avaprol. we will see what happens.
