Question/Comment:
To the post on 7/2, I am 30 y/o and I take 140 mg of Adderall a day. I am the same as you. I sleep about 16 hours straight, get up go to work, take and hour nap at lunch, come home at 4 and I'm asleep by 5 for the night. Its frustrating, I know. I also take 400mg of provigil, but nothing changes. I wish I knew what would help, but I wanted you to know you aren't alone.

Question/Comment:
I saw a notice that Adderal can worsen my hypothyroid condition. How exactly does this happen and how much should I be concerned?

iGuard Answer/Reply:
Increased heart rate and blood pressure are side effects of Adderall - if your thyroid hormone dose is too high, you can also experience increased heart rate and blood pressure. Make sure your doctors are aware that you are on both medications - attending your regular check ups and reporting any side effects will help your doctor identify any potential problems with your Adderall or thryroid hormone replacement doses.

Question/Comment:
My 8 year old son takes adderall for ADHD. I was so amazed at how this medication has affected my son. It keeps him completely focused during his school day and his grades are now A's and B's. Without adderall he is just to hyper to calm down and have control over. I do find that on occasion he does get a little sad or depressed on the medication. I watch this carefully and sometimes give him a break off it for a few days. Overall it works!

Question/Comment:
I take methylphenedate 60 mg daily. I have no insomnia or other adverse reaction. I fell I could use an additional 20 mg per day. I take it for severe depression and ADHD. Do you think this is to much?

iGuard Answer/Reply:
The maximum recommended dose of methylphenidate for adults is 72mg/day. Speak with your doctor about your treatment options. You need to talk with your doctor before doing any adjustments on your dosages.
