Question/Comment:

I was taken off Enablex and given samples of Vesicare to try. By the end of the 1st week I was really depressed. I was angry about everything, easily frustrated, ready to cry and did not want to participate in any of my regular activities or groups. I took myself off Vesicare, went back to Enablex, and in 4 days was feeling more like my old self. I see Depression listed as a very rare reaction, but it sure happened to me.

Question/Comment:

I have been on vesicare for a year now. Have not noticed any side effects to speak of, and it works very well for me at the 10 mg. dose.

Answer/Reply:

I have been on the 5mg. dose for three weeks - it helps some but not completely.

Question/Comment:

I have been taking vesicare for one month, and the only side effects that I have is the dry mouth, but I also have had the constipation that most of the pharmacies don't tell you about.

Answer/Reply:

I have had a spastic blader since I was about 40 and have taken many meds for its relief. I took Vesicare for a month and it was very effective but find the side effectrs as unpleasant as the other bladder drugs. I also didn't like the $70 co-pay for life.

So at 70, I give up! Ban wine (not easy) and coffee, do some abdominal eexercises when I stand up after a long sit/drive, use the incontinance pads and my condition becomes tolerable.

Answer/Reply:

Use a stool softener. I use Vesicare, but make sure I take the stool softener in the morning and night. I got it from a friend who had bladder surgery, was given Vesicare and told to use a stool softener as well.

Question/Comment:

I've been on Vesicare for approximately 6 months now. I thought I was having a recurrence of my Erythema Nodosum from it so I went back to Ditropan XL. That was a mistake. My flare up of EN passed and I went back to Vesicare. I noticed the difference fairly quickly that it was working. I don't have to run to the bathroom as much again. No dry mouth for me either. I guess I'm lucky. I still can't start laughing too much since I'll have to run to the bathroom quickly.

Question/Comment:

I have been on Vesicare now for 2 weeks, it is helping with leaks, but my frequency of going is no different. Of course, I have also been battling a presistant bladder infection as well. I do hate the dry mouth. I hope that eventually goes away. I think I am actually drinking more because of this and wonder if that side effect is defeating the purpose of this medication.
