Question/Comment:
I have been taking Zoloft, Neuronton, Seroquel and Rivotril for a few years for treatment of severe anxiety (panic attacks) and they have worked wonders as a combination. recently took Pulmicort for 2 days (2 x 20mg tablets once a day) and feel like I have regressed in terms of capacity to deal with anxiety- is there a likley link between Pulmicort and the onset of Panic Attacks/ increased Anxiety or is it purely a coincidence?

iGuard Answer/Reply:
Pulmicort is a steroid, and steroids can cause an increase in panic attacks or increase anxiety. However, inhaled steroids are not usually absorbed by the body in large amounts. The Pulmicort should not affect your level of anxiety. It would be best to discuss this change with your physician especially if your anxiety level does not improve.

Question/Comment:
I started using pulmicort since March this year, and I have been having bad case of runny nose. I thought it was my allergy because spring is always my worst months. But until August my runny nose is still there and not improving, I still have to take zyrtec almost everyday. Usually my allergy gets better and better after July and I didn't need any antihistamine in fall and winter. Until lately I accidentally read that one of the side effect of Pulmicort is runny nose. So I called my allergist and they asked me to take Advair for 2 weeks to see if it's really Pulmicort that gave me runny nose.. So far after a week switching back to Advair my runny nose is improving and I am not taking any antihistamine.

Question/Comment:
I've been using Plumicort Flexhaler now for 3 months. It cleared my mucus 90% and my cough is non-existent. So far no side-effects. My doctor says I have a mild case of asthma. Chris, 56 years old from Grand Rapids, MI.

Answer/Reply:
I use Pulmicort Flexhaler and it has cleared up my mucus and now my cough is gone except for once in awhile (before I had a chronic cough with numerous pneumonias). I still use Pulmicort and added Perfect Water⢠once a day and the difference is amazing!

Question/Comment:
I took pulmicort for one full week and broke out in hives in pulse areas on my body. I thought maybe it was from something else, but I had done nothing different. I stopped medication and was clear within 24 hours. Please be aware to notify your doctor if this occurs. My doctor thinks maybe it did not want to react with one of my Rheumatoid meds.

Question/Comment:
Pulmicort has definitely helped me so far. I am no longer tired most of the time and have more energy, and I do not get out of breath going up stairs or walking a short distance when carrying something slightly heavy. So far I have had no voice changes or problems like I had when on AdVair. After six months on AdVair, I was starting to lose my voice and my singing voice was almost an octave lower than normal. It took almost two years to get completely back to my normal voice from AdVair use for less than a year. Jean, age 65, Amherst, NY
