I was prescribed by my physician, to use the medication Advair, for my copd condition. I use Ventolin HFA, only in emergencies, for shortness of breath. I have been using these medications about two years. They have helped me to breathe better.

Question/Comment:

I found that I was able to order albuterol from india made with the cfc's and I have no problem snipping the problem in the bud. I don't care if I poison myself on cfc's at least I can breathe. The prices from India with shipping is cheaper than my insurance copay. WTF?America. Time to wake up and do the homework, I did.

Answer/Reply:

When the propellant for all of the inhalers I use changed to HFA, I questioned the validity of the change. The new propellant doesn't seem to "get there" for me, doesn't work well at all, and I feel as though our government has once again stuck it's hand in where it does not belong. The inhalers do not work nearly as well as they did with the cfc's . I questioned the pharmacist, and she said: "Well, it's because it's bad for the ozone." l replied that it goes into my breathing apparatus...and not into the air. She said, "Oh, you'd be surprised how much gets into the air!" I said, Yes, I certainly would be surprised, and what about all of the spray paint, and other aerosols on the market, and what about auto emissions, law mowers, volcanoes and cow flatulent s? If the pharmacists truly believe that these inhalers are depleting the ozone, they don't belong behind the counter.
