Question/Comment:

I also am taking 1-7.5mg of Mobic daily and do not even notice I am taking it. I do take Hyzaar and Norvasc for BP, but it seems to be under control. I would really like to stop taking it, I have been on it for a couple of years.

Question/Comment:

I quit taking meloxicam because it didnt work very well.

Question/Comment:

I'm on Meloxicam 15mg daily and now surprised my Dr. recommended it since I see it can elevate BP and cause weight gain... she's been on me about weight and elevated BP. With a low pos. ANA result they checked other antibodies & decided I don't have Lupus (ignoring other symptoms), & I'm wondering if part of what I'm delaing with is Fibromyalgia. I read somewhere this type of NSAID doesn't work well for that. I'd agree, if that's what I have, because it's not helping.

42 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Meloxicam can cause weight gain and elevated blood pressure because it causes fluid retention. The weight gain is not usually significant. If you do have fibromyalgia, there are other medications that work much better. Medications that work specifically on nerve-related pain.

Question/Comment:

I used this after having what was considered "tennis elbow" for the 1st time that didn't go away on its own. Did nothing for that but did help my rhomboid/shoulder pain. However, I noticed my BP was up & it seems I put on 5+ pounds, so I have stopped using it regularly.

Question/Comment:

I am on Meloxicam also on Glimepiride,Lisinopril and Simvastatin.there was something said about sensitivity when taking Meloxicam andLisinopril together. What kind of sensitivity are you talking about?

47 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

The issue with taking meloxicam with lisinopril is that meloxicam can increase blood pressure, and the lisinopril is being taken to lower blood pressure. Make sure to keep any follow-up appointments with your physician and monitor your blood pressure regularly.
