Question/Comment:

I'm 51 and have been taking a generic version of Lotrel for over a year. I have had some ankle swelling on occasion, but found that it wasn't the drug but the fact that I sat at my desk working for too long and I wasn't getting proper leg circulation. I don't have that problem when I limit my work sessions to no more than 11/2 to 2 hours at a time before getting up for a break and walking around.

Question/Comment:

I don't take Lotrel (generic) for blood pressure, but for controlling migraine headaches. I've had fewer since I started taking it (~12 yrs. ago) and no swelling anywhere. It has had no effect on my blood pressure which has always been fine.

Question/Comment:

I am on Lotrel 10-20mg and geodon 120mg, paxil cr 25mg, topomax 20mg, diovan 160/25mg.....are there any known drug interactions with Low Dose Naltrexone? I am 57 yr old male
Thanks

58 year old Male – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

There are no drug interactions between Naltrexone and Geodon, Paxil, Topamax, or Diovan listed in the iGuard drug interaction database. However, there is a potential interaction between Naltrexone and Benzapril, one of the ingredients in Lotrel. Using Benazepril and Naltrexone together may significantly increase the risk of liver problems. As a result, the use of these drugs together is normally avoided. It is best to discuss the addition or use of this medication with your physician who has your complete medical history and medication list. You may find that the benefits of the medication will outweigh the possible risks.

Question/Comment:

Will Lotrel cause swelling in thr legs, aankles and feet?

64 year old Male – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Some of the most common side effects of Lotrel include swelling of the feet, legs and ankles. If the swelling worsens or persists you should contact your doctor to discuss. In addition if you experience swelling of your face, tongue, throat, or neck you should immediately report that to your doctor.

Answer/Reply:

I was prescribed Lotrel 5-20 after getting no help from Inderal. It worked like a charm, even now after 3 yrs. But whenever I take a pain pill like Vicodin or oxycodone my left foot starts to swell towards the end of the Rx. I don't know what other meds you're taking, but I doubt it's the Lotrel.
