iGuard.org Answer/Reply:
There are no drug interactions between Naltrexone and Geodon, Paxil, Topamax, or Diovan listed in the iGuard drug interaction database. However, there is a potential interaction between Naltrexone and Benzapril, one of the ingredients in Lotrel. Using Benazepril and Naltrexone together may significantly increase the risk of liver problems. As a result, the use of these drugs together is normally avoided. It is best to discuss the addition or use of this medication with your physician who has your complete medical history and medication list. You may find that the benefits of the medication will outweigh the possible risks.

Answer/Reply:
I was prescribed Lotrel 5-20 after getting no help from Inderal. It worked like a charm, even now after 3 yrs. But whenever I take a pain pill like Vicodin or oxycodone my left foot starts to swell towards the end of the Rx. I don't know what other meds you're taking, but I doubt it's the Lotrel.

Can Saw Palmetto be safely taken with Lotrel and Zocor?
75 year old Male
Posted: 2009-07-06 09:50:16
iGuard.org Answer/Reply:
There are no documented studies showing a drug interaction between saw palmetto and Lotrel and or Zocor. However, this does not mean an interaction does not exist - herbal supplements interactions with prescription medications are not well studied. You should notify your doctor that you have started taking saw palmetto and continue with your regular blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring under your doctor's care.

DOES THIS MEDICATION CAUSE BACK PAIN IN PATIENTS???????
61 year old Male
Posted: 2009-06-26 20:42:43
iGuard.org Answer/Reply:
Back pain has been reported by patients who take amlodipine with benazepril but it is not a common side effect. iGuard has received some reports of muscle stiffness - Less than 1% of iGuard members report muscle stiffness as a side effect of amlodipine with benazepril. If your back continues to bother you or becomes worse, please contact your physician for a thorough examination into the cause of the pain.
