Digoxin does not have reports of worsening lung problems. While your mother-in-law is in the hospital, have her discuss her concerns with her new medications with her physician.

iGuard Answer/Reply:
Your heart rate is within an appropriate range. However, you may need Lanoxin to control your afib and keep your heart rate in this range. If you have concerns about your afib treatment, please speak with your doctor or cardiologist about their treatment plans. You can take the medication at a different time of the day, as long as your doctor has prescribed it just once per day. However, to keep the levels of the Lanoxin in your body at a steady state, it is best to select the time of day that works best for you to remember to take it and stick to taking it at that time every day.

Question/Comment:
Hi, I'm a 47 year old female, I have been taking Digoxin for 15 years due to atrial fillibration caused by THC(pot). I have no problems with it, but I also take Sectral 200 mg too. So far so good except for a few blips. There's this new thing I'm interested in, catheter ablation, for the heart.

i have been takin digoxin since i was 4, have had 2 ops for a valve and holes in my heart. i still get tiredness, palpations, breathlessness and coldness-i've recently upped my tabs to 2 a day-are these effects normal? will the extra tablet help the effects?

iGuard Answer/Reply:
Some of these symptoms may improve with a higher dose of digoxin. However, some of these effects are associated with digoxin toxicity, or too much digoxin. If you have not talked about your symptoms with your doctor, you need to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible to check your digoxin levels and your other lab work, such as potassium. You should not change your dose without talking to your doctor first.
If you have already talked to your doctor and your doctor has directed you to increase your dose to 2 tablets per day, continue to monitor your symptoms and let your doctor know if they worsen or do not improve.
