Question/Comment:

Have been on the drug 9 years, crrect COPD symptoms a lot. Use with Quvar. I also so use the Proair inhaler and it is a anemic peace of junk. Ventalin works great. If a need a rescue inhaler.

Answer/Reply:

I have to agree combivent is the only thing that works for severe asthma.I have tried everything and nothing works better than combivent plain and simple, bottom line!! 49 year old retired paper factory worker. When i started working in a paper factory,my asthma was at level 4,but as years went on my asthma got worse and even more worse. It was on june 20 2007 and it was mid summer and it was 90 degrees outside and 115 inside the building and there was no air or windows, and i dropped like a fly.I couldn't breath hardly at all and once i came to with help from co-workers that was it.My working days was over at that point, after 9 years of breathing in paper dust.I went to a lung specialist and told that my level went from 4 to 10 which was severe and then he told me it would turn into COPD because my asthma was severe and he said i would not be able to work anymore. It was about mid December of 2008 i had a bad cold and i had a hard time breathing where i couldn't catch my breath and sweating like crazy,so i was put in the hospital for 10 days and tests were taken and x-rays and COPD/ASTHMA showd up and that's when they told me about combivent and what a relief!!They better keep combivent coming thats the only thing that works.Duo Neb works just as good as combivent. Thank You Craig

Question/Comment:

I use the liquid solution in a nebulizer and it works great for me.It works a whole lot better than the just albuterol only solution.I also use Symbicort as a preventive measure. If you get to use
Symbicort follow directions exactly. It is not a rescue inhaler as I later found out.It raised my B/P
to 220 / 106. I simply abused it,cause I thought it was a rescue inhaler (My doc never never told
me otherwise.) After that time (ended up in ER) I read all med literature REALLY CAREFULLY.
LOL Scared the hell out of me

Answer/Reply:

do you have COPD or just asthma? I am not sure if my asthma is actually Copd and I would like to not take advair and I didnt know you could get combivent in a liquid for the machine thank you so much for the info. did you ever use advair?

47 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

Answer/Reply:

In 2004 a specialist for lung diseases gave me Advair. I faught Oral Thrush "5" times. The last time I went to another physician and she told me it was the Advair that was causing the thrush. The lung specialist knew this but never told me and I never went back to him. My new doctor put me on Cmbivent inhaler and Spiriva maintenance. I am doing just fine now.

Combivent works well short term, but doesn't last long, and causes some nervousness.
