Question/Comment:
I have been on Tenormin for a benign arrythmia for many years. Not too long ago I was
started on Fortical, and since that time have had a drop in my heart rate (of which my
doctor is aware). Are there any reports of drug interactions of this type? I have been
told that the Fortical can increase the affect of the Tenormin.

iGuard Answer/Reply:
There is no drug interaction between Tenormin and Fortical listed in the iGuard Drug Interaction System. Your decreased heart rate may be a side effect of Tenormin or it may be due to other causes. If this symptom continues, you should follow up with your doctor to discuss the possible causes of this lower heart rate and whether or not your medication needs to be adjusted.

Question/Comment:
After my open heart surgery, I kept telling the doctors that I was in pain. They attributed it to the surgery. Six months after surgery, the doctors decided that something else was happening. Thorasic xrays showed a compressed fracture of an old injury. Miacalcin in the nasal spray form was prescribed to treat me for loss of bone calcium.
