Several years ago my doctor noticed that occassionally my mouth would move and she said that I was probably getting tarter dyskenesia and she gave me cogentin. When I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia I listened and did everything the Docs said so I could recover. Recently I was reading the info pack from the pharmacy and it said it helped with side effects from physic drugs and it stated that this drug does not help with tarter dyskenesia. Here again like so many other time's I was given a drug that I did not need. You have to be informed and take control of your own illness and don't take any doctor's word as gospel. Inform your self. I did. I went from 15 drugs to 5 just by gathering info from different sources and when you ask your doc about info you read and the info he gave you and he can't give you an answer or is agitated it's time to move on to another doc. Know your drugs

I go on and off of cogentin because of side effects from my other medicines. Lately, I'm making fists and holdking my arm out in the air for no reason. My doctor suggested it because he could tell I was a little ridgid when I walked and sat. The cogentin is helping with those side effects.

Benztropine helped me with my side effects alot. I had muscule tightness and leg cramps takeing Risperidone. But it took all of that away and it also help the rest of my meds work together with no major side effects.

best pill I've ever took for the side effects of risperdone oral it took care of my medical probable a little bit if i was a doctor i would prescribe it to all of my patients taking risperdone oral
