Purchasing any drug from outside the United States poses a significant potential health risk. The drugs are not regulated in terms of potency or safety since they are not FDA approved. It is not recommended to obtain any medication that has not gone through the FDA approval process.

I too had a severe reaction to this drug.I will never take it again.I had severe sweating, vomiting, tightness in chest, rash all over.I took several baking soda baths to help calm my skin down.I asked the pharmacist and she told me I was allwergic to sulfa. I stopped taking it 3 days ago and the rash is still with me.I finally stopped vomiting. It makes me wonder how can a drug like this get approval when it makes you feel worse than the infection. My taste buds are out of whack so I assume they will come back when this is out of my system.

Answer/Reply:
I have been on Bactrim for 3 years now because of a chronic condition and I have not had your problem with it. Other drugs I have taken have cause nausea and vomiting and I found eating a soda cracker right before you take it helps a lot. Good Luck!

I have had several pts report this (15 years as ER & recovery room RN). Ehe suggestion for eating works for most, you can also ask doctor or pharmacist to change form (comes in a suspension made for children but often better tolerated by folks with stomach surgery). Talk to your surgeon if it persists, another alternative drug may be available. This one is often 1st choice for not only coverage but as an older drug usually most cost effective (cheapest).

Answer/Reply:
Bactrim is what they give you to combat MRSA-the anti-biotic resistant staph infection that is rampant in hospitals. Bactrim is the BEST for killing this type of staph. It is VERY common that it gives you headaches and nausea. Just let your PCP know what your current symptoms are from the Bactrim and they will know exactly what to give you.
