Question/Comment:
Have been taking B-Complex for several years.Read recently that the Niacin which is one of the B's in the Complex interacts with Statins taken for cholesterol and increase the risks for muscle damage.Noticed an ache in my arm muscles before I stopped taking the B-Complex .The ache is now gone.I wonder if it's all in the mind.Anyone have similar side effects?

Answer/Reply:
I too have been taking B Complex 100 for several years. I'm also taking Cholest-off by Nature Made, Plus One-a-Day Cholesteral Plus multivitiman & recently notice achey muscle in one of my arms & stopped taking my Vit. B complex. Seems to be helping me in that arm. Could be the niacin. I was once on Niacin, but couldn't tolerate it, even the flush-free. I also, was once on Lipotor, but couldn't tolerate that either.

Answer/Reply:
I have been on Lipitor going on 6 yrs. I just started taking B-100 complex for about 3 months now. I have noticed that I have more muscle pain and more joint pain. Experiencing muscle pain in the back along the right side. Also I have noticed weakness in my hands, not being able to grasp things at times.
I just recently found out about the raction of the Niacin with the Lipitor...the reason why I joined iguard. Seems it was a good choice since others are experiencing the same problems that I am.
I guess I will stop my B complex and see if the problems improve.

Question/Comment:
I noticed a change in my energy level when I take this vitamin, as well as my improved ability to handle stress. Also at times I get skin flushing due to vitamin B3 (niacin) which I learned can have this side affect, also used as an active ingredient in Niaspan. An interesting side affect is the fact that it turns my urine a bright yellow when I take it. No other side affects noted that are adverse.
