Question/Comment:

does anyone have any problems taking blood pressure meds with liqua-gel advils. Take advil 1-2 per night for arthritis. thanx

65 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

There is a possibility that your advil may cause you to retain additional sodium in your blood which could increase your blood volume. This may cause a slight increase in your blood pressure. You should followup with your doctor and be evaluated to see if this is happening in your situation.

Answer/Reply:

I have found that Tylenol Arthritis and Wal-Mart's Equate Arthritis works better than Advil or other brands especially if they do not specify Arthritis on the label - have tried several different ones (including Advil) and none of the others worked as well.

Question/Comment:

I currently take Advair. Is it compatible with cold and sinus products such as Advil or Contact?

52 year old Male – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

You need to be cautious when taking a decongestant with Advair. Speak with your doctor first because it can cause your heart to race.

Question/Comment:

I have taken 800mg Motrin for the last 8-10 years and every so often I start getting heartburn and indigestion.
I have found that eating Activa once a day for a couple of weeks gets rid of those symtoms. I have RA & fibromylgia. I also take Methotrexate, & Tramadol for another health problem. But the Activa does work

Question/Comment:

Is there any correlation between ibuprofen and elevated sugar levels?

68 year old Male – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Ibuprofen should not have an effect on blood sugar levels. However, there can be an interaction between the ibuprofen, or any medication in its class, and having diabetes. The ibuprofen and diabetes can interact to raise blood pressure and decrease kidney function. Make sure your physician knows you are taking the ibuprofen, and make sure you are routinely having your blood work checked to monitor your kidney function, long-term blood glucose levels and blood pressure.

Question/Comment:

I took one 200mg tablet of generic Ibuprofen 2 days ago for a back ache. About an hour later my entire upper body was covered in a rash. At this point, the rash has remained for 2 days. Seeking medical attention now.
