iGuard Answer/Reply:

Phenteramine is indicated for short term use and should not be used for long periods of time. The only way to guarantee medications are safe is to purchase them using a valid prescription from a licensed doctor in the United States from a licensed pharmacy. We cannot recommend or endorse medication from oversees as it does not pass through the FDA for safety and effectiveness. If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor's methods, you could seek a second opinion.

Answer/Reply:

Hey My name is Jessica I have also orderd Phentermine off of the internet and your right they do look different and I didn't believe they work the same what did you think? They was the genaric type mine was but I didn't know untill I recieved them I looked them up again ans seen they have the wrong spelling instead of the right way Phentermine it's spelled as Phentremine so it was a trick I feel I done researched on both of them and it says not to buy the ones with the wrong spellings because it's not the same and dosen't work.
I just gave in and went to a dr here where I live and got the real deal it works good I lost 17lbs in 2 wks

what have you found out about the pill?

Question/Comment:

My doctor prescibed me adipex-p take one daily after breakfast? Is this the correct way to take this medication. I've been reading and it seems it should be taken 1 hour before breakfast or 2 hours afterward. Which is correct?

48 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Adipex is typically taken before a meal to reduce hunger and the intake of food. Your doctor may have wanted you to eat a normal breakfast then have the drug work in your system for the rest of the day. You should followup with your doctor to clarify the directions that will be best for you.

Question/Comment:

I've been taking phentermine 30mg for 2 weeks. I've really been watching what I'm eating, drinking a lot of water and working out. I'm a little disappointed that I've only lost 3lbs. I do feel really good and not so tired and it has helped with not being hunger. I'm wondering if I need a stronger dose.

36 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

The highest dose you can take is 37.5 mg, and it is best taken in the morning either 1 hour before or 2 hours after breakfast. Make sure you are taking it at the correct time. Weight loss is better done slowly, so keep exercising and watching your diet, and you will continue to see results. Sometimes weight loss is slow at first as the muscle weighs more than fat. Another measure of success is inches lost, around the waist, hips, legs, etc. Try to focus on how you are feeling. The most successful weight loss happens when the focus is not on the diet but on lifestyle changes. If you are feeling good, not as tired and not as hungry, these are very positive signs that you are on your way to a very successful change in lifestyle.

Answer/Reply:

It is not a quick thing for some to loose weight it has been just 2 weeks give it time. Remember you have to workout at a brisk pace. It took since September of 2008 til now and I have lost 71 lbs. So it does work don't give up. I take the 37.5 dose and that is the highest dose that there is. So if you don't have 37.5 ask your doctor for it I would.

Question/Comment:

I have recently gotten a prescription for phentermine. I haven't started them yet. I am a little nervous about the side effects. When is the best time to take the med before or after you eat. I also take lorazepam for anxiety that I take with breakfast, so can i take phen at the same time. Any suggestions.

36 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

Answer/Reply:

I have been taking this product since August 2009 and I have lost a total of 22 pounds so far. I work closely with my doctor and recently had my blood work done and everything came back normal. I take my pill first thing in the morning as I get up at 5 am to workout, then wait atleast one hour before eating breakfast. I tried taking it after breakfast for a month and I got extremely jittery and anxious so with your other medication, you should really take this product atleast one hour before.

40 year old Female – Source: iGuard United States

iGuard Answer/Reply:

Phentermine is best taken 30 minutes before or 1-2 hours after meals. You should avoid taking it in the late evening because it may cause insomnia. The iGuard drug interaction database does not list a drug-drug interaction between lorazepam and phentermine.
