Question/Comment:

I was diagnosed with "urticarial vasculitis" several years ago by many major clinics, including Mayo. I had been on Prednisone for eight years when Mayo converted me to Dapsone. I was told that the disease "U.C." probably would not kill me but the medications might over a long period. They, the doctors, said that the meds (dapsone/prednisone etc.) would gradually destroy my body organs such as my heart, liver and bone density. Even though no one seems to know much about U.C., or even care to do the research, they put me on medications to try to control my disease. U.C. displays itself in two ways with me. They are severe itching and severe joint and muscle pain. Dapsone and the other meds only reduce the effects about 50%. As I am now beginning to feel the effects of several years (14) on the experimental meds mentioned above, I am experiencing the destruction of my vital organs as was predicted. I have listed all of my current prescriptions on iGuard.org in an attempt to understand their (prescriptions) interactions but am told there is not enough known about Dapsone. I understand that Dapsone has been used for many years for Leprosy but no one knows of its interactions with other drugs.

Does anyone know any information about either Urticarial Vaculitis or Dapsone? If so, I would love to get some feed back please.
