Dr. Hugo Stephenson

Hugo is the Founder and President of iGuard.org, and is responsible for the overall vision of the iGuard.org service and business. His main tasks focus on ensuring that iGuard.org is a valuable resource to patients while building a successful and socially responsible enterprise.

Hugo brings to iGuard.org over 15 years experience in medicine, drug development and drug safety - including most recently serving as President for Quintiles Strategic Research and Drug Safety Division. He was an early pioneer in medical decision support, and is an internationally renowned expert on drug safety research - having steadily built support amongst patients, academics, pharmacists and physicians for a world where patients help scientists learn more about drug safety, and - in turn - scientists ensure that patients get better information, faster about the safety of their medicines.

Elisa Cascade, MBA

Elisa Cascade

Elisa is responsible for bringing the iGuard.org vision to reality. On a day to day basis, she oversees back office operations and works closely with our partners to ensure iGuard.org provides a valuable and reliable service to patients.

Elisa brings to iGuard.org over 15 years in strategic healthcare consulting, and is a nationally recognized expert in the analysis of health data. With an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, and with industry leading experience in the capture and integration of complex healthcare data, Elisa is the dynamo that keeps the iGuard operation moving.

At iGuard.org, Al is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining strategic partnerships. His main focus is to ensure that the iGuard.org community continues to grow by delivering value to both our patients and partners.

Al brings to iGuard.org over 30 years of experience in strategic marketing and business development within the financial and pharmaceutical industries. He is very excited to apply his skills to a socially responsible enterprise like iGuard.org, where he can help patients take a more active role in their own health care.

Cassie Plummer, PharmD, MPH

Head of Medical Information

Cassie Plummer

Cassie is responsible for managing the Medical Information Services that power iGuard.org. This involves receiving medication safety and recall information from the FDA, manufacturers and through the iGuard.org Clinical Review Team for processing and distribution to patients. Cassie's team - that includes nurses, pharmacists and physicians - is responsible for maintaining the iGuard medication monitoring service with the most current medication safety information by reviewing the most recently published medical literature and medication prescribing information.

Cassie brings to iGuard.org over 10 years of experience in providing medical information services in a variety of settings including retail pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, academic teaching centers and clinical research settings. A graduate of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Drexel University, her research interests include medication risk communication, patient adverse event reporting methodology, and medication therapy management. Cassie is excited to provide patients with an opportunity to take an active role in their health care. She hopes that the timely safety information delivered by iGuard encourages discussions between patients and their doctor and pharmacists, ultimately helping patients to receive the most effective and safest medicines possible.

Les Gillings

Les Gillings

Les is responsible for ensuring that patients who want updates and alerts about their medicines actually get them. On a day to day basis this involves building on existing relationships with existing users and partners, and exploring opportunities with other organizations keen to provide better healthcare support for their members.

Les Gillings brings over 25 years of experience to the iGuard.org team in global clinical and commercial development as well as more broadly, Computing and Information technology. Les has been responsible for building and growing clinical research services in the United States, Europe and Australasia. He is excited to be linking together his interests in safety research and information technology to improve the quality of life of patients through better communication of drug safety information.
