Question/Comment:

Frankly I am confused as to why I was given this medicine. I was diagnosed with Belles Pausey and was given this medicine as treatment for a viral infection, I assumed it was being given as an antibiotic of sorts.

Copied from another website:

Bell's Palsy

The clinical features of Bell's palsy are complex.

Medical treatments that may influence the outcome include acyclovir (Zovirax), valacyclovir (Valtrex), and corticosteroids for Bell's palsy.

If you type "valtrex for bells palsy" into google, you will come up with quite a few links.
