Question/Comment:
I started Geodon in January, and I started having severe sneezing and runny nose. But, it seemed to help with the "meltdowns" I was having at work. I tried an allergy medicine recommended by the pharmacist, but has not helped. Then I began having problems with drooling. I stopped the Geodon in June and the sneezing, runny nose and drooling left. I needed to start it again in late August. I'm on the lowest dose possible with 20 mg in a.m. and p.m. The sneezing, runny nose and some drooling are back again. Don't know what to do since it has helped me. But, a woman my age can't be sneezing 25 times i a row without racing to the bathroom if you get my drift.

Question/Comment:
I have been taking geodon 160 at night for 2 years now, and I have no side-effects except when i don't take it, oh my! you will have the worst anxiety and you feel like a junky coming off heroin well I don't know what that personally feels like but I've seen it and that's how I felt. As for taking it, it has been the only drug along with wellbutrin 300mg a day and 200 mgs of Zoloft that has made any difference in my manic depression. I have tried to lessen my dose and my mania comes on full force. I start shopping and applying for credit cards and doing very strange things. I have bad mood swings and am generally not nice to be around. You have to look at the benefits verses the bad things that could happen, and I do stress the word "could." I have never had tremors or seizures, I just feel half-way decent. And on a different note, has anyone ever noticed when your manic depression came along, have you had it forever or are you like me and did not get diagnosed until thirty? It seems like all the women in my family got this disease in their early thirties, any advice or info?
Thanks

Question/Comment:
I have been on the combination of 300mg Effexor XR every morning and Geodon 40mg every morning with 120mg at night. Used to be on 80mg/80mg Geodon, but was too sleepy during the day. Geodon has been a godsend for me. I'm bipolar and suffer from psychotic manias. Since the Geodon was added 7 years ago I have had no hospitalizations. The high dose of Effexor XR leaves me with a tremor in my hands, but I can deal with it because it usually prevents me from getting too depressed. Only had one significant episode of depression in the past seven years (this past spring) and my psych doc added wellbutrin 100mg in the am. Sure beats hospitalization or electroconvulsive therapy.

Question/Comment:
I've been on Geodon for more than a few years and I guess I like it. I'm on so many other psych meds that it is hard to tell. I take 160 mg. a day. I am so used to it that it really does not make me drowsy in an of itself. The only problem that I have is that one time I ran out of it and within a few hours my symptoms of depersonalization came on. This is a psychotic state and I also felt quite sick. My pharamist told me that I cannot just stop taking Geodon because it will make one very sick. Does anyone else have this problem with Geodon?

Question/Comment:
I've been on Geodon for about a month now.I'm starting at 40mg and i feel pretty good.I had a few Major Depression moments but i got through them.I probably need an extra dose or need to add on an antidepresent.I do feel like i have more Anxiety with this pill.So i take half of a Clonazepam 1 time daily.I feel a little more drowsy when i add the Clonazepam but i can still function.I agree that all the other Bi-Polar meds caused a-lot more side effects.I don't feel much side effects at all with Geodon.I hope it stays working for me because i like it and i feel functional. Thanks for all the other info people left.It all helps so much.
