Question/Comment:
I have been on neurontin for three months now for neuropathic pain due to diabetes and chemotherapy damage. I absolutely hate this drug. I have been on four different medications to try and see what will work best for me. This has been the worst. The last three weeks I have had severe..I mean really SEVERE upper arm pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, and back pain. My arms feel like somebody cracked them in half. I have never been so miserable. Before taking this medication, I would recommend that you find out everything you can about it. The depression is horrible.

Question/Comment:
I have been taken this for 3 months now. It has help me tremendously. My legs and feet were always getting numb. And my right shoulder. the feeling was like when you bump your elbow. I am on 100mg 3 to 4 times at bed time. I can also take it through the day. It doesn't make me drowsy. I am on the generic version and it has worked for me Gabapetine.

Question/Comment:
I have been taking Gabapentin for two years. Have had good results with my RLS. The only problem I seem to have is a burning sensation under the skin all over. Don't know if this is a side effect or not. Does any one else taking it have this sensation?\

Question/Comment:
I suffer from severe chronic migraines. My doctor prescribed the Neurontin to help control the severity and amount of migraines that I get (though I've never heard of this medication being used to treat migraine). I've now been on this medication for 2 months and it has not helped me at all. In fact it has made the migraines more frequent and now I suffer from insomnia from this medication. I've also been having twitches in my left hand. When I asked my neurologist about these problems he ignored me and acted like they weren't problems at all. I am on the lowest dose and just one pill a day. Does anyone else suffer from any similar problems from this medication? I was hoping that they would go away once my body got used to the medication but instead they seem to be getting worse.

I was also prescribed Neurontin for Migraines, and it took about 1 year of just trying to find the right dosage before it started to help.Insomnia was a problem at first, and it took a higher dose to stop that. My Migraines are under control, and no more insomnia. The thing about Neurontin is that you have to keep going to a higher dose, i have been on it for 10 years now, and i take 3 600mg at night and 1 during the day if i need it. Good luck in finding the dose that works for you, and don't worry, you and your DR. will.

I never heard of this drug being used for migraines. Have you tried Imitrex for your migraines? Tell, don't ask your doctor to try something else and if he still doesn't listen to what you have to say, you may need to get another doctor.

Dear 27 year old female,
It has taken me many years of trial on diff drugs for my migraine, now on a treatment of 75mg Pamelor for control and Fiorinal w/codine when thry get to a level 8 on pain. Have seen a 50 percent reduction how often I get them, and a 30 percent lowering in pain. Just a idea you can throw at your doc. I know where your coming from.
