Question/Comment:
I have been using Flomax off and on for 12 years. Initially started when I had a ruptured appendix - the drug was used to help with bladder control. More recently, the last 8 years, I've used it almost continually.
Once my insurance changed and for awhile I couldn't afford Flomax (it was $75 per month at the time). The change in my urinary system was gradual when I came off the drug, but after 3 weeks I was back to weak urinary flow, several times up at night with extreme difficulty urinating.
If my insurance kicks out now, I'll be forced to pay for Flomax out of pocket. Someone wrote earlier that the drug goes generic in April or May - I hope that is true. BTW, I've not experienced sexual side effects from the drug.

Question/Comment:
It dropped my blood pressure, caused me to be dizzy and caused frequent urination. I NEVER will EVER take this drug again.

Question/Comment:
How long should you take flomax. I have been taking the drug for about three years now and want to know if that is safe.

Question/Comment:
I started taking Flomax over a year ago..worked very well but I stopped (mainly because of the cost.) After a coulple of months and having to get up 4 or 5 times a night....having to go to the restroom every half hour when visiting friends...not being able to drive very far without stopping..I broke down and had the prescription re-filled. It has been a lifesaver. Works wonderfully well. I may have to get up once during the night but not always. It is so good to be able to sleep the night through.

Answer/Reply:
I get my Flomax from a Canadian Pharmacy.
Once on their site the allow you to get the medicine from Canada or sometimes several other countries. I trust drugs from Canada, Eurupean Union, England and Isreal, I don't trust generics from India.
Thus, I get FloMax from England for only $26.00 plus $10 shipping. That's about $65/month cheaper than Costco. It is exactly the same pill, from the same manufacturer, as I get at Costco... just cheaper.
If you don't want to do that I think FloMax will be available as a generic in the USA in April or May. The price should drop dramatically then.

Question/Comment:
The Safety / Interaction indicates that a patient should not use this drug if allergic to Sulfa Drugs. I contacted my doctor when I found out, but he said there was nothing to worry about because it has a very minimum amount of sulfa in Flomax. My neck and shoulders have been to hurt unbearably and I wonder if this has anything to do with the Flomax. Does anyone have any comments?
