Does Vytorin have any sexual side effects?

Any cholesterol lowering medication can have sexual side effects. And the reason is clear. Our bodies manufacture testosterone from cholesterol. If cholesterol levels drop too low, then testosterone levels can fall as a result. Loss of libido is another complaint from statin users.

I personally have not had any problems with Vytorin since I started using it. In fact my total cholesterol dropped nearly 100 points in the first month and has continued stable with my good cholesterol counts increasing and my bad cholesterol points decreasing. Should I be concerned anyway?

Its good to hear you have had no side effects. The only concern at this point is that Vytorin didn't perform in the ENHANCE study. Despite large reductions in LDL, the people in the Vytorin group had no regression of arterial plaque, and in some cases plaque worsened in the vytorin group. The drug company hid the results for a very long time before making it public. Meanwhile, they sold the drug knowing it had no effect on heart disease.

Research on your own how Vytorin works and also look into the results of the clinical trials or try to find a doctor who is knowledgeable and objective about taking this drug.

Your muscles may feel weak after a few weeks. Keep up the exercise, the best way to fight cholesterol.
