Question/Comment:
I just recently started using Fentanyl patches for about a month, The only problem I have had was about the second day , it would itch around the patch,, I'm on the 12mcg and have to change them every 3 days. The patch seems to be helping.. I use to take shots im my back and on loracet 7.5mg and ultram 50 mg.. Another thing I found out is after you take the old patch off there's all that sticky tape on your stick. I have to switch places each time I change my patch. I have Fibromyalgia, osteiarthritis, arthritis, diagnoised positive for Lupus, hurt back... I hurt all over, usually I stay inder a heating blanket to keep my joints warm, I'm so stiff when I get up from sitting or laying down..I don'y know what else to do..I also take Tylenol Arthritis, it helps a little.

Question/Comment:
I am on the Duragesic/Fentanyl Patches. My Pain Management Doctor told me that to help keep the patches on to use spray powder deodorant first, making sure it was dry and then to apply the patch. This did wonders for me for awhile. Now I am back to using the patch without the deordorant. I am alo on Oxycontin 4 times a day and hydrocodone at night at least 4 hrs after I have taken my Oxycontin. I have chronic pain all over and have found additional relief with the patches, but I still have pain a lot.

Question/Comment:
I have been on Duragesic for approximately 4 years. Combined with acupuncture my Complex Pain Syndrome (isn't that a mouthful for a diagnosis) has been mostly controlled by this combination.

Question/Comment:
I have been using the Fentanyl patch for about 2 years now. I started at 25 mcg and am currently at 100mcg that get changed every 48 hours. I also take Percocet 5/325 up to 4 times a day. The reason for this is degenerative disc disease in my lower back and neck. I recently spoke to my doctor about getting off of them. He told me that i would have to check in to the hospital for 2 and possibly 3 days to be medically detoxed off of them. I love the relief I get from the patches, but am just getting tired of using them. Tired of the stupid, nobody home feeling from them. Am I the only one who feels like that?

Answer/Reply:
I can relate, I feel like I go around with this heavy wet towel over my head. My perscription is 100 mcg every 48 hours. Sometimes, I look around for something I've forgotten only to realize it is a part of myself, my consciousness, I have lost touch with. Best of luck.
