Question/Comment:
I have been on Lexapro for a month, I haven't seen big changes and I can't afford it anymore, I was wondering has anyone been on Lexapro at one time but now on Celexa? What difference are there between the two on how they work in comparison to each other? Are there changes in the way you react? Good or bad, please let me know your opinions, thanks!

Question/Comment:
I have been taking Citalopram for about 7-8 years now. I had a hysterectomy and fought off the emotions that came with it for about 2 weeks. It got so bad that I had to call my doctor and asked him to do something! I was crying constantly, it seems. After I started taking it, things were much better, I was not crying all the time for no reason. I have gained weight, but I am not sure if it is from the drug or not. I had a lot of problems during my pregnancy and the weight has just sort of stayed with me. I had my surgery within a year of my last child being born. I too tried to stop by taking one every other day, but found myself on an emotional rollercoaster. My doctor said I was not ready to get off them yet, so I still take them today and everyday.

Question/Comment:
I had sudden anxiety in the last 4 months. A combination of work, a new baby, etc. I reached a breaking point and was put on a small dose of Celexa. It took about 6 weeks for me to realize the changes. I have seen remarkable changes, including the following:
- Mondays are better
- extended periods of rain or snow do not bother me anymore
- looking at old photographs used to make me feel strange and old, not anymore
- my mother's death is easier to understand and deal with
- I laugh more
- I enjoy my kids more
- I complain less
- I swear less
- I feel anxiety less
Side affects for me were:
- dizzyness - went away after two weeks
- vivid dreams - still here, but I do not mind them
No other side affects or complaints. Highly recommended if you are suffering from general stress. I wish I started taking it 5-6 years ago.

Answer/Reply:
i agree with everything that you have said. i've been taking celexa for about 7 yrs now and without it i become severly depressed and suicidal. i don't notice any side affects while taking it. but that can just be from the fact that i've taken it so long. has anyone else had a problem with it becoming less effective??? my doctor wants to try me on zoloft but i'm not sure how comfortable i am with that.

Question/Comment:
I just started Celexa last week. I've been having difficulty concentrating, feeling unmotivated to do anything and sleeping a lot which is so unlike me. Are these some of the side effects? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, has it gone away?
