WOW!!!! to the 27 year old that wrote the comment. I swear to god I had to look at your name/age to make sure it wasn't my post. We have so much in common word for word. I wanted to just say to you that before you get off your meds. GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR! That is crap that just because they can't diagose you that she would take you off all your meds. That doesn't make sense at all. I have been to around 30 doctors in the last 3 years and they still can't diagnose my leg pain. I, like you have my best days the day after I change my patch. Im on 50mcg's every 48 hours. I use Norco for breakthru pain which usually I take 2-4 pills of that day. I take Neurontin also but I take 4800 mg's a day which is the max you can take. I also take cymbalta 60mg, & ambien 10mg. My latest slightly almost diagnosis is that I have "Arachnoiditis" I would love to talk to any else out there that has this. From what I have read it is fairly rare and their is NO cure. "27 year old". I am keeping you in my thoughts and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, find another doctor before you do anything. I notice that you wrote that quite awile ago and would love to hear what has transpired since then.

Question/Comment:

I am a 45 year old female and have been diagnosed with a bulging disc in my lower back. The nerve pain in my right leg was so bad I could hardly walk, my dr. put me on Gabapentin 400mg and this seemed to help with the leg pain. Lately I have been experiencing pain in my shoulder
( the back of my shoulder), it feels exactly like my leg did but the Gabapentin does not work. Has anyone ever experienced this? Please let me know. Also let me know what pain meds I can get my dr. to try on my back, I take Vicodin 10mg and it does not work, I can't work, or even do house work without the pain getting so bad I cry. Please give me your thoughts.

iGuard.org Answer/Reply:

Please let your doctor know how the pain has moved to your shoulder as well. Depending on your medical history, your physician can try different pain medications and different non-medication treatment to treat the disc in your back. Each medication is affected or can affect other medical conditions, so it is best to discuss your course of treatment with your physician.

Question/Comment:

I am on generic neurontin for migraines but it doesn't seem to be working. I was on topomax for a long time and it did work in the beginning but then quit working. I am 56 and had an anyuerism in 1999 that is when the migraines started. I am willing to try anything to stop these headaches.
