Question/Comment:
Hi all. I just found out about iguard, and I am real happy that I did! My story starts with having Graves Disease, and going undiagnosed for several years, approx 20 yrs ago. I take levothyroxine at .175 per day. I read what the pharmacist stated about taking minerals, well every morning I take my levo with 20mg lisonopril and one nature made 50+ vitamin with whatever I have handy, water, coffee, soda. I also have thrombocytopenia, low platelets, the count being 50, and I am considered to be stable. My experience with docs has mostly been negative, any concerns I have about my thyroid are just blown off and i am instructed to just make sure I take my levo or I could die. My tx for graves was drinking radioactive iodine btw.
I guess I just wanted to get into this loop, as I have learned more in the past half hour from iguard and all of you than I have in 20 yrs. i do know about hyper and hypo thyroid, but never knew about how best to take the medication. You can bet i will be following up with doc and pharmacist tomorrow. Thanks iguard and all of you.

Question/Comment:
l saw my gp when the cfs/me symptoms lve had for 9 years ,got so bad back in feb.l went on a anti candida diet and was prescribed levothyroxine at 25mg when l finally got a new label HYPOTHYROID!(l believe lve have been for years !)l took the 25mg for a month WHEN the terrible sweats/anxiety started.(gp didnt know why).l stopped taking them on my own accord..l joined thyroiduk.org l read loads and it was suggested that Armour might be better as it has t3 and t4.AND they suggested l have a adrenaline stress test (you send 4 pots of spit of ,taken throughout the day)this came back very abnormal! So l went private and the dr did loads of bloods (dismissed my adrenaline test) charge a fortune, But prescribed armour and Dhea..Great l thought..lve taken half a grain twice a day and 5mg of dhea for two weeks..ok..then l had to up the armour to 1grain in morning and half in eve..WELL the sweats came back far worse..Dr was on holiday and then l went in hospital for a op..l feel like S>>>! post op stitches out ,most of the day l look like lve been swimming and at night l dont sleep because l get hot then damp then freezing! l spoke to the dr yesterday he said to cut back to two halves again..which l had done anyway last week..but l have read that if your adrenals arn't working correctly you can't absorb the tsh into the blood properly anyway..l know the armour t3 /t4 helps with this process but is it enough?should the dr be treating me with cortisol for my adrenals? CAN ANY ONE ADVISE Thankyou.x

Answer/Reply:
HI ! ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT LEVOTHYROXINE BECAUSE IT IS CHEAPER AND IF I WAS YOU I WOULDN'T STOP TAKING BECAUSE YOU COULD GO DOWN HILL FROM THERE. I HAVE IT TO AND I FOUND OUT BACK IN 1998. I WAS DOWN AT MY MOTHERS HOUSE PLAYIN CARDS WITH MY MOM AND MY BROTHER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND AND MY HUSBAND AND EVERYTHING WAS GOIN OKAY UNTIL I SAID THAT I COULDN'T SEE THEM, BUT ALL WHITE IS ALL I CAN SEE.
