What does this mean?
Be aware that heartburn may be associated with the use of selective estrogen receptor modulators (sometimes just referred to as SERMS), such as tamoxifen, which are used to help protect women against osteoporosis or a recurrence of breast tumors. You should discuss with your doctor the risks versus benefits of taking these medications, especially if you have a history of problems with heartburn or acid reflux.
